Welcome to the website for the Northwest Sonoanaesthesia Faculty
We are enthusiastic senior anaesthetists who run courses to introduce consultants and trainees to the use of ultrasound in regional anaesthesia.
The course runs over 2 days and covers the technology behind ultrasonography and how to set up and use an ultrasound machine. There are lots of tips and tricks.
Typically there are around 20 participants enabling lots of hands on practice. Participants are taught sonoanatomy and needling techniques. There are plenty of opportunities to practice on phantoms and to scan volunteers.
Feedback has been extremely positive, commenting on the friendly and encouraging nature of the course.
NEW! We also are involved in teaching non anaesthetists. We run courses for Central Venous Access and simple nerve blocks for Emergency Medicine.
